I heard that bookmarking demon is a great software. But I'm still doing social bookmarking manually because I believe that it looks more natural than using a software.
I think it's black. You have to rise your website rank very slowly. It's better than fast methods.

This is really a nice question you have put in the forum. Many people are in dilemma about White and Black hat techniques, so differentiating them is not a simple thing.
Well, every white hat technique can be used(misused) as black hat technique. Therefore every technique must be done in a proper way and done with the search engine's algorithms keeping in mind.
