Have you noticed that if a page not index  in google then google cache show 404 error. Can any body explain? Why, google show 404 error?

404 or page not found error is not completely related with indexing of your page. Pages which are indexed and then deleted afterwards also show 404 error. 404 implies that the page you requested does not exist or has moved to some other location.
The cache version of the URL you gave is not available but we can actually access the real webpage.

 Google Webmaster Tools is showing it as a 404 Error then it is most likely correct from an indexing stand point, correct.We will continue to work on setting up a custom 404 page.  Any suggestions for how to do this in an .htaccess file?  We did include ErrorDocument 404 /notfound.html in the .htaccess file but it does not seem to be working

Google shows 404 error because there may be broken link on your site or the page you searching is removed from the site.

If Google could not find a web page or there is a broken link then google will show 404 error.

I think this error occurs if you are trying to access a dead or broken link.
