Hi,

I'm experiencing a very annoying problem with my recently bought PS3 Super Slim. I cannot download any updates for games or apps that I have. Downloading the apps (such as youtube) goes without any problems. However, when I'm logged in on my PSN account, it asks me to update the games and apps when I try to start them up.  When I do this, it will direct me to the download page where the download will remain on 0% and no timer will appear. After a few minutes, the download will stop and give me an error with the code 800233EC. I have searched on internet if there are any solutions. The solution that fixed this problem for a few people was to unplug the power cord for both the PS3 and router and plugging them in again after a few minutes. This did not work for me though. I have a wired connection to my PS3 and the internet connection works (login my PSN account, browsing etc). My internet works normally on all other devices at home. It is not a wire problem, as this problem persists when I turn on wireless on my PS3. Has anyone else experienced this error code before or have some tips of what I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

I did not find the right solution from the Internet.

This is a problem lots of people have been having, me included. I don't think this is a well known fix for it so here it is:

-Go to the settings tab on the XMB.

-Select the Network Settings option.

-Now disable the Media Servers.

This will disable the option under the XMB tabs 'Picture' 'Music' and 'Video' to search for Media Servers and also stop this error when downloading game updates.

It's actually an excellent and useful item of information.
