pre-sales flat directory path

Hi -

Site is using drupal and the directory path is flat (I think I am using that term correctly?)
Also nav bar is js - I think I have corrected for that.

Publications page actually has a real non-js link to newsletter: href="newsletter"

URL of page is site/newsletter

A! thinks the path should be site/publications/newsletter <-- so it returns a 404

After I solve this one, my next one will be for images, pdf, and docs.

Thank you in advance.

You don't say which A1 product you are using, but I assume it is A1 Sitemap Generator?

Are you 100% sure there isn't a link *somewhere* to the 404 path? How to check:

Anyways, A1SG defaults to not include 404 paths in sitemaps. But it will show you 404 URLs after website scan.

Remember you can configure "Output filters" for file extensions and mime types to include in website scan results

If you don't see the options make sure you to disable "Easy mode":

Using latest version of A1 sitemap genearator - have just run it in scan mode, nothing else

enabling checkboxes for the 2 java script items; plus look at directories with links

blanked out in output filters and in analyze filters all items

I cannot figure out what is going on - my concern is that I am new to CMS, possibly some of the pages are coded incorrectly and that is why pages are not being found.  I am an ex unix sys admin who had to quit when my vision diminished... so I have web and directory backgound - but I am befuddled.

In data view - I see a whole list of links - not all the links on the site - and they are all OK

Next comes a list of folders - these may be the nav bar pages

Beneath each of the folders - all links listed fail with 404.

What is confusing is that one page is listed in the top part and I know that the only link to that page is from the same nav bar link page where it sid it failed.

I am ready to pluck down my money for all of your products, sitemap generator; keyword; download; analyzer (if it is separate from sitemap generator analyze section)... but I need to understand these issues.  Who can I call?  Thanks  Debp

Hi,

Can you send me an email with your

1) website address
2) the URL you believe is incorrectly identified as 404

And I will take a test scan, and email you back most likely with a full explanation within 12 hours :)

Contact email addresses + phone here:
http://www.microsystools.com/home/contact.php

But I strongly prefer email as it is next to impossible to answer most questions without having run a test scan and spent a little time analyzing the problem :)
